For several years talks have been held between Oldham Soccer Club and Kentucky Fire Juniors on how we can combine our resources to best serve Louisville's soccer players. It is of our opinion that Louisville, and its surrounding areas, produce some of the finest young talent in the region, but as a soccer city we are doing an injustice to those players. We feel that there are too many clubs, and therefore too high of a dilution of player and coaching talent, to truly meet the needs of those players. It is our ambition to create a platform, which sits alongside our own programs, that identifies, educates and provides unique opportunities to players and coaches. We welcome other clubs to be part of this movement.
In the winter of 2014-2015, Oldham Soccer Club, Kentucky Fire Juniors and Louisville Soccer Alliance embarked on a 7 week training program for our U11-U14 elite level players. With player development and coach education the primary objectives, the program was an enormous success. It showed that clubs can work together for the common goal of helping our players achieve greatness. Following the winter months Oldham Soccer Club and Kentucky Fire Juniors agreed to combine one age group (U14 boys and girls) for the 2015-2016 season, with possible expansion in the 2016-2017 season. The two organizations have very similar ideas, a great working relationship and are both very excited about this development.
